What Do You Think About Obamacare?

March 21st, 2010

Today’s vote by the house will seal the fate of Obamacare. If they have a vote. Odds are if they vote it will pass, Pelosi won’t risk failure until passage is guaranteed.

What do you think?

Do you think spending nearly a trillion dollars will save money? Will adding 30 million people to insurance rolls drive down costs?  Will mandating insurance companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions lower costs? Will placing cost controls on insurance premiums slow the rising cost of health care services?

Does the bill actually save $138 billion over ten years? When congress spends $371 billion for the ‘Doc’ fix after the bill passes won’t that erase those savings and then some?

Will raising qualifications for Medicaid eligibility to 133% of the poverty level, and then mandating those with insurance to join Medicaid lower costs? Where will the money come from that the federal government will use to pay 100% of the state’s increase for the next several years?

Does the creation of 159 new bureaucracies, boards, and commissions, staffed with high payed federal bureaucrats lower the cost of government?

Will the rules and edicts from these new government bodies dictating pay of those in the medical profession, and the premiums insurance companies can charge, be considered a government takeover of the health care sector? Will unelected bureaucrats be able to decide what health care you qualify for, and when? What is the Department of Health Care Cost and Benefit Analysis about?

Will the $500 billion tax dollars businesses will be charged be passed along to consumers, or will these businesses have to cut overhead (jobs) to be able to pay the new taxes?

Will mandating every American to buy insurance, insurance approved by the Department of Human Services, enforced by the IRS with fines and possible jail time, meet constitutional muster? Would this then allow future government the authority to mandate the purchase of other products?

How many of the 42% of primary care physicians who said they would consider retirement if Obamacare passes, polled in the New England Journal of Medicine, will actually retire? Will fewer doctors and 30 million more patients strain the health care system?

Will Obamacare work better at providing health care for 30 million more people, than the Stimulus did at creating jobs for 3.5 million unemployed as promised?

Do you believe government is the solution to all your problems? Do you believe the American people are the solution to America’s challenges?

Does all this give you a headache? Then get in line at the Commission for Upper Skull Pressure. You can find the commission in the Bureau of Anal Cranial Inversion.

The bill has passed. Be prepared for the IRS to be setting up systems to intrude into your bank accounts,  insurance company policy, as they prepare for monthly verification that you have made your insurance payment. The new 16,500 agents being hired to enforce Obamacare will have the authority to place liens, fine, and charge interest for scofflaws that haven’t paid their premiums.

The Department of Health and Human Services will be in contact to confirm your coverage meets their approval. They will have the authority to force you to increase coverage or change policies. HHS will now be linked to your IRS files. In other words the bureaucrats in HHS will have access to your tax records, and the agents at the IRS will have access to your health history.

Welcome to the Gulag. At least the president has finally created some jobs. Ooops these are government jobs, it’s private sector jobs he’s incapable of creating, because he’s never had one. Perhaps in addition to housing GITMO terrorists, Obama plans to use the Thomson IL. facility for folks that refuse to comply with Obamacare. Those who chose instead to comply with the constitution?

The president said we have laid a cornerstone for the American Dream. He lied again, it’s the cornerstone for tyranny.
