Tea Party Express III, Springfield Illinois April 5, 2010
April 6th, 2010The following is a hard copy of the speech given by Fritz Pfister during the Tea Party Express III event held at the fairgrounds on April 5, 2010:
Welcome ladies and gentlemen. How many of you were at Springfield’s first tea party?
The local paper followed that event editorializing with the headline; Protest but don’t ignore the facts. Stating in the article: At times, the rally here drifted into hyperbolic, fact-ignoring, I’m mad as hell temper tantrum, rooted in the November election defeat of conservative and libertarian political philosophy.
Anybody here from the local paper or the media? Good, I’ll speak slowly for you. Wait until this November!
The paper also said quote; if Barack Obama is for socialism, it’s for a version unrecognizable in any economics textbook, past or present.
Really? What about nationalizing GM, Health Care, & student loans? Bailing out banks & then dictating their pay? What about taking contract law and throwing it in the trash by forcing rightful creditors to the back of the line so you can buy Chrysler for your union buddies who helped get you elected?
News flash reporters; you don’t need to look in any textbook to see what version of socialism Barack Obama is practicing, you need only look into the eyes of 16 million Americans without jobs.
The main stream media in this country is a disgrace. They have broken the trust our founders placed in them.
I drove here tonight in that goofy bug with the red lips on the front, and a don’t tread on me sticker on the back.
The most important thing in that car is a small American flag in the holder next to the steering wheel. That flag came from the Viet Nam Memorial Moving Wall. In the glove box was placed the stenciled name of Tom Healy, my friend and neighbor growing up in Kenton Ohio. Tom Healy died in Viet Nam in 1970.
Recently President Obama spoke of courage when he rammed the government takeover of health care through against the will of the people, using bribes and budget gimmickry. To you Barack Obama I say you don’t know the meaning of courage. Every day I drive that car I think of not only Tom, but every American who has made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend the constitution of the U.S.A. That’s courage.
I’ll be damned if I will stand idly by and allow any president to move our government away from the constitution toward a progressive statist socialist democracy, supported by his hand maidens in the press, liberal congressman and senators, 42 Czars, and the most radical leftist administration in the history of our country to steal that freedom from our people, from our children that generations have fought and died to protect and defend.
The following is dedicated to all who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the constitution, for I believe this is what they would say were they here:
I Have a Dream:
· I dream of a leader that travels the world speaking proudly of American exceptionalism and sacrifice.
· Not a leader that calls America arrogant on foreign soil and apologizes for America. We have nothing to apologize for.
· I dream of a leader that stands by our allies.
· Not one who coddles tyrants and dictators.
· I dream of a leader that truly has the backs of our troops.
· Not one who is more interested in granting rights to terrorists than defending the Americans who kept us safe following 9-11.
I have a dream:
· I dream of a leader that embraces capitalism, even with all its flaws, that has provided Americans with the highest standard of living in history.
· Not one that believes in the redistribution of wealth stealing one man’s property to give to another. Or a leader who abandons free market principles to save the free market.
· I dream of a leader that embraces democracy, and personal responsibility.
· Not one who believes in entitlements and funds community organizers that perpetuate voter fraud undermining that very democracy.
· I dream of a leader that believes in limited federal government. That the people are the solution to America’s challenges.
· Not of one who believes that government is the solution.
I have a dream:
· I dream of a leader that honors life. Even the life of the most defenseless, vulnerable, and innocent.
· Not one that who views a life as a mistake or a cost.
· I dream of a leader that defends liberty.
· Not one that denies their very people liberty with unconscionable deficit spending, that will certainly lead to onerous taxation, and burdensome regulation.
· I dream of a leader that cherishes the pursuit of happiness. Safe keeping the unlimited opportunities and possibilities for all Americans.
· Not a leader who believes in a socialist utopia that does not and cannot exist. That lowers everyone’s standard of living in an attempt to legislate equality. That punishes success and depresses the human spirit.
I have a dream:
· I dream of a government by the consent of the governed.
· Not a government that ignores the will of the people.
· I have a November dream where every representative and senator that has supported the progressive statist agenda, who have buried our children in debt, and denies us our liberty to be voted out of office by a tsunami of patriots.
· I have a dream of every person in the sound of my voice educating their neighbors, coworkers, church members, family and friends on the greatness of this country and that our freedom and liberty can be lost, and lost from within. This November I have a dream of good people taking a stand.
Ladies and gentlemen Thomas Jefferson said when the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.
May I humbly add; A free man with no property is wealthier than a rich man living in tyranny.
To the media , start doing your job. The founders trusted you to protect the people not the government or the powerful.
God Bless You All, God Bless America, and God Bless Our Troops Serving around the world.
Thanks to the local Tea Party, Sandy Dragoo and all their members for inviting me to speak at the rally. It is humbling, an awesome responsibility, and an honor to speak to an audience of American Patriots. Time to take our country back from the progressives, statists, socialists, and liberals in November.
